Sarjapur Lake

Sarjapur is a beautiful area with a futuristic approach and the fastest-growing real estate destination in Bangalore. Sprawling across 48 + acres and 2 km in circumference, Sarjapur Lake is also famous for birds, and one can witness many species of birds, especially migratory ones. There are around 70 species of migratory birds which is a significant attraction. There is a beautiful pathway of a 2 km stretch for walking.


A bio-diverse ecosystem, Sarjapur Lake is located in Kaikondrahalli, off Sarjapur Main Road. The lake maintenance is funded by BBMP (Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike), manned by MAPSAS (Mahadevpura Parisara Samrakshane Mattu Abhivrudhi Samiti) Trust, including support from various nearby communities.


Sarjapur Lake is an added advantage for the dwellers here as it is a perfect rejuvenation zone amidst nature. A spoon-shaped lake, Sarjapur Lake, has parks, play zones, jogging and cycling tracks etc. Nature also showcases its best features here with various trees of all sizes, which attract many birds. The shallow end of the lake attracts reptiles, insects, amphibians, birds etc., while the other end of the lake is deep.


Sarjapur Lake or Kaikondrahalli Lake remains the same, i.e. at its best in all seasons, with numerous birds and insects. Some of the most sighted bird species include Spot-billed Pelicans, Painted Storks, Asian Openbills etc. The boundary wall of the lake is defined by Sarjapur Road on one side and compound walls of residential properties on the other. Sarjapur Lake is indeed an attraction for the residents there.
